Our camp
Summit has been one of the premier cross country day camps on Long Island for over a decade. Complete with an experienced staff, great area, and an exciting curriculum campers are certain to learn something new and have fun. At Summit, the campers will be taught how to elevate their running by learning injury prevention techniques, training methodology, dynamic form drills, and much more. At the conclusion of the camp the campers will receive a free Summit XC Camp t-shirt and have the opportunity to purchase running gear and apparel, including shoes and spikes, at a discounted price from Schwab's 2nd Wind Running Store - a partner of Summit XC.
Sample Day Schedule:
8 a.m. - Meet at the picnic loop at Sunken Meadow
8:30 - Comprehensive warmup
8:45 - Core, hip mobility, and pylometrics
9:00 - Begin run
10:00 - Swim and ice bath in the water at Sunken Meadow
10:30 - Break for lunch
11:00 - Training and running talks with staff and/or guest speakers
11:45 - Games
12:30 - Pickup
